Tampa Catholic High School

Our Lady of Peace eighth graders may be eligible to take classes at the local Catholic high schools if they meet the admission guidelines for these programs. These students start their day at one of the schools listed and return to OLP to finish the school day. Transportation is provided by the parent.

"Eighth Grade Honors Program" - This is offered by Cathedral Preparatory School.  Eligible students in 8th grade can choose up to two courses including Integrated Science, Algebra I, English I, or Human Geography. Courses will count for grade school graduation requirements and high school credit and will position students on an accelerated academic track to take Advanced Placement, Gannon University, and University of Pittsburgh courses as a junior and senior in high school if they attend Prep or Villa for high school.

"McAuley Honor Program" - This is offered by Mercyhurst Preparatory School (boys and girls). Eligible students have the option of selecting one or two MPS high school honors level courses including Algebra I Honors or Pre-IB, Foundations of Scientific Inquiry Honors, or Spanish/French I Honors. If the McAuley Scholar enrolls at Mercyhurst Preparatory School his or her freshman year, credits earned in the program will become part of his Mercyhurst Prep high school transcript.
